This class is for the student that is experienced in using their sewing machine and sewing patterns. They have learned how to sew clothes using commercial sewing patterns and would like to explore fashion design further. Pattern making is a precise process of measuring, calculating, and drafting a paper template for a garment. Students will use their own measurements to create clothing that fits them precisely. They will use math skills such as C =2 x pie x R to determine the circumference of circle skirts. They will develop their creative imagination by learning to turn their sketches into blueprints. Once pattern design is mastered, the possibilities are endless when sewing your own clothing.
