High School Geometry (year-long course) - Fall '23ThuMichael Marchesan09/07 - 01/1801:00 PM - 02:20 PM14 & upOIn this yearlong class we will focus on understanding plane and space relationships. One thing that many students find they like is that geometry is less abstract and more visual than algebra – easier to 'see' what is going on in the problems. For some of this class we will focus on what people usually picture when they think of geometry: topics like area, perimeter and volume, measuring angles, and using triangles to find the heights of tree and buildings. You know, stuff you can use in the real world out there. About 2/3 of the class covers problems that are not designed to necessarily be directly usable in the real world, but are instead exercises so students can explore and practice the process of solving problems in general. We will spend a significant amount of time on proofs and logic, which helps students consider how we know the things we know, and how to build on knowledge we’ve learned before .....Visit our staff page for instructor bios: https://learnbeyondthebook.com/our-team/Open$439 (Includes all registration fees and materials)16 weeks80 minutes per class1:00pm-2:20pmTrailer Big Room09/07/2301/18/24168014,15,16,17,18$21/hr; $27/wk; $110/moEngineering, DIY Projects, Accelerated Math&Engineering, Cooking, Photography, Video ProductionMathSemester class

We will then move into combining like terms, and writing & solving 1-step, 2-step and multi-step equations and inequalities, and absolute value inequalities. We will spend some time with the rules of exponents, including negative exponents. We will perform all operations with polynomials. We will be spending some time with linear equations and systems of equations and their graphs before moving onto all operations with rational expressions and equations, radical expressions and equations, and quadratic equations & functions. Of course, we would never leave out uniform motion problems cause if two trains leave the station travelling at different speeds, you need to know how long it will take them to be at the same place! About our Homeschool classes in Santa Clarita

Our homeschool classes in Santa Clarita offer quality education for students ages 4 and up, led by dedicated and caring teachers. With a 12-student limit per class, we ensure personalized attention for everyone. Our diverse curriculum includes core classes like English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and PE, as well as enrichment courses such as History through Minecraft, Art, Theater, Music, Lego Robotics, Engineering, and Computer Programming.

Our nurturing community sets us apart. We focus on the whole child, fostering strong connections between students and instructors, which homeschool students greatly value. Our homeschool classes provide interactive, student-guided learning experiences. Learners can choose their courses and engage in interactive discussions, creative projects, and self-selected presentations. We prioritize exploration, connection, and learning over test results or rote memory.  It’s not just one size fits all for everyone. We are all custom humans and so should our education be as well!

Join some classes today! Late registration is no problem; we’ll pro-rate your tuition. We partner with numerous organizations as vendors and are open to new collaborations upon request. Contact us to discuss your needs.

We offer a two-week trial period for all classes, tutoring, and music lessons. Students can test a class and, if it’s not the right fit, switch or drop it, paying only for the weeks attended.

Beyond Santa Clarita, we also offer classes in Northridge and via live Zoom online courses, serving the wider homeschool community.
