Waldorf Knitting and Handwork 2 – Intermediate to Advanced
This class is for those students who comfortably master casting on and off, knitting and purling. A basic introduction to texture, color pattern, and knitting in the round will be given. After the basic skills have been practiced on short term projects, students will then choose to make a hat, mittens, or other serviceable or playful item. More challenging knitting promotes three-dimensional thinking in a flexible and practical way. Ideas can be realized when the ‘rubber hits the road’, and designs are subject to production. Ken Chenault, CEO of American Express, and Waldorf alum said “if you can knit a pair of socks, you are certain that you can do anything.”
(Note: sock knitting could be taught in Knitting 3 one day)
