US History through Fashion

Study of US History from Colonial times to present through the study of fashion. One research
paper and presentation board is required for this semester as well as sewing one outfit or styling
three outfits from US History. Students will create their own Student Notebook. A 3-ring binder
(at least 1 1/2” wide) is required with tab dividers to organize the decades of fashion. Students
will take notes and sketch in this class. Mini sewing sample may also be added to Student
Notebook. Laptops are encouraged for this class as online research may be necessary for
gathering information for Student Notebook and presentations.
