Cultures with Henna Workshops –May 8, 15, 22 – 2-4pm each time
Henna body art is an ancient social art that has brought women together for millennia. Experience the practice and the pampering as we learn about the science and the art of henna. The cultures where henna art is practiced will come to life as we explore it’s traditional role in the lives of women. The first two weeks we will focus on mehndi, or Indian henna art for our practice. The third week we will explore geometric Moroccan designs and technique. Be prepared to do some beautiful body art and drink lots of Indian chai. For those not wanting henna stains and for initial practice, inactivated henna paste will be provided.
Ages: 12+yo. & adults
Cost: $60 for all 3 weeks or $40 for the first 2 weeks (all materials included)
