For any student actors who are interested in learning the fundamentals of performing Shakespeare, this class if for you!
While still offering instruction in the basics of classical performance — text analysis, meter and scansion, and voice and speech, and movement — the class will also offer a comprehensive simulation of the production of a selection scenes from one of Shakespeare’s plays.
Through a series of monologues and scenes, students will experience “table work,” text analysis, character development, and discuss costume and prop design, as well as scenic design. Students will then undergo a “rehearsal schedule,” work toward being “off book,” and then mount the “play” in a final presentation.
