If you feel you are college-bound in the next few years and want to get ready, this is the course for you! In this course, we will explore what makes a college a good fit, different paths to college (especially for homeschoolers), what to include in a college essay, and how to start getting yourself ready to be a good candidate. We’ll also practice writing those college essays–this can help you to get ready, even if you don’t plan to apply for a few years. This course would be good for anyone who will be a high school student in the fall, from 9th grade to senior year. Dr. Lizzie Scott has a background in counseling and has run the LBB College Prep and Leadership Program (Student Council) since 2014 and has guided many students–including her own–through the process of preparing for college, and is an accomplished writer who can help students stand out. This course will help students explore who they are, where they want to go, and outline steps.
