In this class students will study plants including their physiology, structure, genetics, ecology, distribution, classification and economic importance through experiments, stories, worksheets, stories and crafts. In this course, students will dissect a seed to discover the different parts and to learn their functions. Students will learn about seed germination, how seeds travel, and what seeds need to live and grow. The students will also learn about phototropism, the plants ability to bend to any given light source with an experiment inside a maze planter. The students will build the planter themselves and plant their very own lima bean seeds inside of it. Students will study the lima beans seeds growth, their leaves, and their roots throughout the semester. A list of materials will be provided with a $35 material cost.
