For the intermediate and beginner sewer, this class will introduce students to international techniques and traditions as well as practical and decorative hand-sewing. An ideal skill to learn at home. Students will make a variety of projects, including seasonal decorative items as well as exploring various basic mending skills. Projects may include a quilted, or embroidered, or Japanese sashiko inspired pillow cover, and other items as time and interest allow.
The visual/ spatial and 3-D planning skills needed in hand-sewing all support later academic success.
A basic kit will be prepared for each enrolled student.
