This class will teach students the principals and elements of art and how these things are used in all forms of art. Whether that is in fashion, interior design, web design, and fine arts. The usefulness of these things is very important in all art related work. To further their understanding of the principals and elements, each topic will be followed by a project that they will work on in class and at home at times.

We will also be discussing artists from the past and preparing students for an Art History college-linked course where they could earn credit for high school and college at the same time in the Spring semester.   We will go over great artists and their most famous art pieces. We will have discussions in class about these pieces, as well as trying to recreate the most famous paintings and drawings like Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Pablo Picasso’s Old Guitarist, and much more. We will also learn how to critique art work by using the principles and elements of art. There will be light homework for things like projects.
