DESCRIPTION:Learn Beyond The Book will be hosting an Entrepreneur Day. It will be open to all students and even parents with businesses can bring their business cards. We will have a table for all the parent business cards. The main focus is the kids’ businesses and teaching them about having a business. It will be a joint event for Newhall and Northridge locations at the Newhall location (about 15 minutes from the Northridge location with no traffic at that time of the day) at The Newhall Church of the Nazarene\, 23857 The Old Road\, Newhall. \n\n\n\nWe plan to do it from 12-2pm on Friday\, Dec.15\, which is also the last day before our holiday break. I’m personally hoping to get all my holiday shopping done at your booths! \n\n\n\nWe hope many of you can participate! \n\n\n\nIf you plan to participate\, please fill out this form so other sellers can see what you plan on selling if they want to avoid too much competition and also want to start saving to shop at each other’s booths. Set-up can begin at 11:00am and around 11:30am we will have a time where the sellers can take a few minutes to shop at each other’s booths before the other shoppers show up and they have to be at their booths. We want this to be a time where kids learn about entrepreneurship\, how a small business works\, how to do some marketing\, learn about the cost of items and how to set a good price for an item to make sure it sells and there is some profit. All sellers are completely responsible for their setup\, including tables\, chairs\, decorations for the booth\, their forms of payment and any change that they need to have for their shoppers. To learn about rent\, the cost to participate would be $5 payable cash to Learn Beyond The Book via Venmo to Elmarie Hyman @ LearnBeyondTheBook. We will spend that to advertise the event and try to get other shoppers to come see all that you have to sell! If anyone is planning to sell any food items\, they need to have a list of ingredients and we do ask for peanut-free items due to allergies. Please let us know if you need access to an outlet. DESCRIPTION:Come camp with other homeschoolers on the group sites in the Santa Cruz loop. You will be steps from the beach and walking distance from the cute town of Carpinteria where you can find great restaurants\, antiques\, or go thrifting. You will be about 15 minutes from Santa Barbara Zoo and other Santa Barbara attractions. There is also the seal sanctuary in Carpinteria and tar pits to visit. One of the great things at this site is that there are flushing toilets and warm showers available. Whether you’ve never camped or you’re a veteran camper\, this is a very relaxing time of just hanging out on the beach or doing whatever you feel like on that day. \nThe cost of $175 per family for the 4 nights includes your first vehicle’s parking. If you’re charged at the gate\, just let me know and I’ll reimburse you. Currently\, there are 2 RV spots left and the rest are tent spots. There are no hookups for the RVs but you can use a generator during the day to charge things. Can’t wait to camp with you!

SUMMARY:Animal Training: Train a chicken! - 4days x 2hours on May 11\, 12\, 18\, and 19
DESCRIPTION:This class will be on a farm in Agua Dulce.\nCome learn the basics of animal training through chicken agility from an animal trainer with 20 years experience and her daughter (with a Guinness World Record in Chicken Agility)!! This class will give you the incredible opportunity to learn clicker and target training with adorable bantam chickens. Through the 4 day course you will first be introduced to chickens that have already been trained to play instruments and run through a small agility course. Once you’ve mastered working with the trained chicken\, you will be able to train a new chicken. All the chickens are bantams (miniature) and are under 2 pounds so they are super cute and easy to handle.\nAges: 10 years and up and be very comfortable and passionate about handling and working with animals. This is not the class to get over your fear of birds.
