A creative art-based recycling course that digs a little deeper into how we deal with our waste and how we make it. Recycling, conserving water and energy, and carpooling are easy tasks that are good for the Earth but get easily overlooked and forgotten. In a part of the world that makes these resources so easily available (and disposable), we tend to forget how sacred and scarce they are in other parts of the world. As we continue to deplete these beautifully sacred and scarce natural resources, we should be encouraged and encouraging the world to change their habits and cultivate more mindfulness towards what they buy, use, and how. This class with teach some of these skills and encourage kids to help come up with new ones of their own. Every week we will bring in a small bag of trashed treasures in order to properly recycle what we can and create art with what we can’t!
