This class seeks to utilize our inherent ability for storytelling and shared history using the oral tradition.
Over the course of the term, students, through a series of structured exercise, will gain confidence in the telling, retelling, and writing of clear, vivid, and engaging images, scenes, and stories by tapping into each of their authentic “voices.”
As the workshop yields longer work, the class will begin to focus on crafting “style,” by harnessing the authority of the students’ voices through the writing of dreams, memories, personal experiences, how-tos, parodies, and folktales.
