Catering & Party/Event Planning

This one semester class will introduce students to all of the aspects of planning an event or party from start to finish.  We will discuss and learn about manners and etiquette, invitations, menu planning, decorations, table settings and arrangements, party food preparations, budgeting for parties and events, favors, thank you notes, and much more!  We will have lots of hands-on activities, such as creating invitations, designing floral arrangements, calligraphy writing, role playing situations such as proper introductions, and cooking and sampling a variety of party-friendly recipes.  We will culminate our learning with an end-of-semester party or event in which guests are invited and we show off our new skills.

Teacher: Chris Orris (who just recently planned her daughter’s whole wedding)

Ages: Recommended for ages 12 and up.
