Come learn how to fix things and also work on building projects!

Syllabus below is subject to change to adjust to the students’ needs and interests, but projects might include the following:

Week 1 – Introduction
Personal introductions
Intro to the tool box
Fix it stories
Bus tour
Hands on tool time

Week 2 –
Safety review and detail
Basic tool uses
Safety quiz

Weeks 3-6 – Car days
Overview

Oil change
Air filter
Jack and tire change
Coolant check/refill
Changing Drive Belts

Week 7 –
Intro to electrical work
Electrical soldering guitar/broken wire splice

Week 8 –
Household (how to splice wire on broken plug)
Change light switch cover, light bulb, show fuse breaker box.

Weeks 9-11 –
Take apart a bike and put it back together.

Weeks 12-14 –
build a bird house/ basic construction principals/simple applied geometry

Week 15 –
I bring in something for each student to fix using skills learned in class.

Week 16 –
Last week share research project
