Atlas of Myths and Legends

Did Thor pretend to marry a frost giant to get Mjölnir, his beloved hammer, back? Did you know that according to the Aztecs, we are living in the 5th Sun? Trying to understand the forces of nature is one of the reasons why many myths and legends, although varied, carry similar messages. Was Quetzalcoatl full of feathers, did Pele indeed have skirts of lava, and how about a Japanese eight-headed serpent? Menehunes, Olympian Gods, Baba Yaga, BigFoot, werewolves are some of the myths, legends, and monsters we will learn about in our travels around the world. Drawing will be a big part of our adventures. This class is intended for the FALL and SPRING.
