A Nation is born: Documenting US History

In this class we will explore the Charters of Freedom: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These documents were foundational in the forming of the United States and its philosophy. Students will learn how to “become” citizens by understanding the history and application of each of these documents in our daily lives. In the process, we will study different presidents and important historic events that shaped our country; from the first settlers, the Colonist and the Revolution, our nation’s early years, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, the Roaring 20’s and the Depressing 30’s, the Civil Rights Movement, and landing on the Moon. Students will need a notebook and the following book Don’t Know much about American History by Kenneth Davis $6.99 – https://www.amazon.com/About-American-History-About-Paperback/dp/0064408361/ref=sr_1_1?crid=15Z5AK4MMA63Q&dchild=1&keywords=don%27t+know+much+about+american+history&qid=1589181403&sprefix=don%27t+know+much+a%2Caps%2C207&sr=8-1
